Hats Off To Emily

Posted by DINRIL on October 13, 2006

Do you like my hat?My husband may disagree with this, but I continue to maintain that little girls definitely do better on the clothing front than little boys do (the latter get their own back in terms of having more exciting toys of course, things that bleep and whistle and make lots of noise). As such, I’ve had great fun dressing Emily up so far whenever the opportunity may arise.

With the weather turning colder, the last few days have seen me bringing out her vast collection of hats – and it is a vast collection, since we went a bit mad in the H&M sale over the summer and put them away for when the weather was suitable, by which time we figured her head would be big enough for her to wear them.

When it was warmer and she was tiny, the only thing which fit her was a stripey pull-on hat which bore a strange resemblance to a knotted hanky, but now she is sporting all manner of fancy headgear. Highlights from the hat drawer so far have included the pink knitted creation which keeps falling over her eyes, a multi-coloured check trilby and a pink and purple bobble hat with matching scarf (which we’re saving for when it’s REALLY cold).

Our favourite so far though is a multi-coloured stripey knitted hat which not only goes with absolutely everything, but also makes her look like a tiny reggae star. All she needs now, I think, is a Baby Toupee to go with it.

Beautiful hat! And if you actually go with a baby toupee, I checked out that site you listed and I think Emily would like the long pink hair. 🙂

I agree with you, definitely. Emily is a living doll in that coat and beret!

She looks so cute in that hat. You are right though about the clothes. Having had two sons, I always found that they had the cutest clothes and more to choose from for little girls. You have a great day.

Having two boys really put a damper on the ‘buying cute clothes’ thing. Yeah, they had adorable outfits, but I found myself wanting to buy little bonnets and tiny sweaters with multi-colored rosebuds all the time. Emaily looks so sweet in her little hat!
